Why should you help?

Research shows that a child who has a caring adult to guide them through this critical, transitional time is significantly more likely to graduate high school and go on to college. Students who have mentors also make better life choices and have healthier relationships.

Not surprisingly, the benefits are not a one-way street. Mentors report that their lives are enhanced through increased self-esteem and sense of accomplishment, as well as improved leadership and relationship skills.

How will you help?

As a mentor, you will act as a trusted and supportive advocate to an S2C Scholar. In addition to participating in relationship-building activities and assisting with college and financial-aid research and applications, you will play a key role in your scholar’s journey to college and a bright future.

What's your time commitment?

Your volunteer commitment is approximately 4-5 hours a month for the scholar's six years in the program.
